Privacy Policy
How US Sports Media handles information, cookies, analytics and advertising, and the choices you have.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how US Sports Media (“we,” “us”) collects, uses and shares information when you visit ussportsmedia.com (the “Site”), read our content, subscribe to our newsletter or contact us. It applies to the Site only. By using the Site you acknowledge this policy; where consent is required by law, we will ask for it. Some services described below are used only if and when enabled on the Site.
2. Information You Provide
- Messages: your name, email address and anything you include when you email us.
- Newsletter: your email address and, if requested, your preferences.
- Comments or submissions: if we enable them, the content you post and the details you enter.
Please share only what you are comfortable providing.
3. Information Collected Automatically
When you visit, we and our service providers may automatically collect: IP address; browser, device and operating system type; language; approximate location derived from IP address; pages viewed, links clicked and time spent; referring and exit pages; date and time of visits; unique identifiers such as cookie or device IDs; and information about ads you view or interact with.
4. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We and third parties also use pixels, tags, local storage and similar technologies. You can control cookies through your browser settings and any consent tool shown on the Site, though blocking some cookies may affect features.
| Type | Purpose | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Site operation, security, saving your consent choices | WordPress and hosting cookies |
| Analytics | Understand traffic and improve content | Google Analytics |
| Advertising | Serve, measure and limit ads; interest-based advertising where permitted | Google AdSense and Google advertising technologies, ad networks, Meta Pixel |
| Embedded content | Play videos and display social posts | YouTube, social media platforms |
| Affiliate | Attribute referred purchases | Affiliate network cookies |
5. Analytics and Tag Management
Google Analytics helps us understand how visitors use the Site, such as which articles are popular. Google may collect the technical and usage data described above. You can learn more at how Google uses data from partner sites and may use Google’s browser opt-out add-on.
Google Tag Manager lets us manage tracking and advertising tags. The tags it loads may collect data as described in this policy.
Google Search Console provides us with aggregated search performance information; it does not track you on the Site.
6. Advertising, Google AdSense and Personalized Ads
We use Google AdSense and Google advertising technologies, and we may work with other ad networks, exchanges and direct advertisers. These third parties may use cookies, device identifiers and similar technologies to show ads, limit how often you see them, measure performance and, where permitted, show ads based on your visits to this and other websites.
Personalized ads use your prior activity and interests. Non-personalized ads rely on context, such as the page you are viewing, and general location. Where required by law, personalized advertising is shown only with your consent, and you can change your choice through any consent tool on the Site.
Your options include: Google Ads Settings; Google’s advertising policies; Digital Advertising Alliance; and the Network Advertising Initiative. Opting out does not remove ads; it may make them less relevant.
7. Meta (Facebook) Pixel
If enabled, the Meta Pixel sends information about your visit, such as pages viewed and actions taken, to Meta, which may use it to measure ads, build audiences and show you ads on Meta products. Learn more in Meta’s Privacy Policy and manage preferences in Meta ad preferences.
8. YouTube and Social Media Embeds
Some pages may embed videos or posts from YouTube and social platforms. When such content loads, the provider may collect data such as your IP address and cookie identifiers, and may recognize you if you are signed in. Their handling of data is governed by their own policies, such as the Google Privacy Policy.
9. Newsletter Subscriptions
If you subscribe, we use your email address to send newsletters and related updates, and our email service provider processes it for us. We may collect email engagement data, such as opens and clicks. Every newsletter should include an unsubscribe link, and you may also email us to opt out.
10. Affiliate Tracking
Some links on the Site are affiliate links. When you click one, the merchant or affiliate network may place cookies or otherwise record that you came from our Site so a commission can be credited to us. We do not receive your payment details from these merchants.
11. Other Third-Party Services
We may use hosting providers, security and performance tools, email services, analytics and advertising technologies, and other providers, including ones added in the future. They may process data on our behalf or independently under their own policies.
12. How We Use Information
- Operate, secure and improve the Site and our content
- Analyze audience behavior and performance
- Serve and measure advertising and affiliate activity
- Send newsletters and respond to messages
- Detect fraud, abuse and technical problems
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms & Conditions
13. How We Share Information
We share information with service providers that help us run the Site; advertising, analytics and affiliate partners described above; professional advisers; authorities when we believe disclosure is required by law or needed to protect rights and safety; and a successor in a merger, acquisition or sale of the Site. We do not sell your email address or message contents for money. Note that some laws treat certain advertising and analytics data sharing as a “sale” or “sharing”; see Sections 17 and 18.
14. Data Retention
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, such as until you unsubscribe from the newsletter, for as long as needed to handle your inquiry, or as required for legal, security or accounting reasons. Data held by third parties follows their own retention practices and settings.
15. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational measures to protect information. No website or transmission method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
16. Your Choices and Rights
- Manage cookies in your browser and any consent tool on the Site.
- Opt out of personalized ads using the tools in Section 6.
- Unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time.
- Request access to, correction of or deletion of your personal information, subject to applicable law, by emailing support.ussportsmedia@gmail.com.
We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. There is no uniform standard for browser “Do Not Track” signals, so we may not respond to them.
17. U.S. State Privacy Considerations
Depending on where you live and whether a law applies to us, you may have rights such as to know or access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising, certain profiling or the sale or sharing of personal information. Where applicable and subject to applicable law, we will respond to valid requests sent to the email above. If we decline a request, you may be able to ask us to reconsider. Where required by law, we will treat recognized opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control, as opt-out requests to the extent our technology supports it.
18. California Privacy Considerations
Where California privacy law applies, California residents may have the right to know what personal information is collected, used and disclosed; to request deletion or correction; to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising; and not to be treated unfavorably for exercising these rights. Advertising and analytics cookies described above may be considered “sharing” or “sale” under that law. We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information as a purpose of the Site. You may submit a request by email, and an authorized agent may act for you where the law allows.
19. International Visitors
The Site is operated from the United States, and information may be processed and stored there or in other countries whose data protection laws may differ from yours. Where laws in your region, such as those of the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, apply to us, you may have additional rights, including to object to or restrict processing and to complain to your data protection authority. Where consent is required for cookies or personalized advertising, we will seek it.
20. Children’s Privacy
The Site is a general-audience sports publication and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
21. Third-Party Websites
The Site contains links to third-party websites and services. We do not control them and are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please review their policies.
22. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as our practices, services or laws change. The “Last updated” date above shows the latest version. Continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the updated policy, where permitted by law.
